SISSA Neuroscience research groups study the nervous system from genes and molecular mechanisms to cells, neural circuits, perception and cognition. Their work spans cognitive neuroscience, functional and structural genomics and neurobiology, combining experimental, theoretical and computational methods. Shared facilities and interdisciplinary collaborations connect research across scales.
The Cognitive Neuroscience Group also contributes to the SAMBA laboratory in collaboration with the Mathematics Area, exploring microscale motility, bio-inspired shape morphing and tactile perception.
